Foreclosure Pets of the Week - Sheila & Ethel
People aren’t the only ones affected by the current foreclosure crisis. The number of pets at local shelters has doubled. In some cases, pets are simply being abandoned, sometimes even left indoors without food or water.
For every five foreclosed homes at least one animal is left behind…
Please consider the following great pets available for adoption from our friends at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League:
Sheila:
1 year old spayed female Pit Bull mix dog
Good Day Mate! I am a one year old Pit Bull mix named Sheila and a little bigger dog at 61 pounds. I am shy when I first meet new people and give me a while to warm up to you and I will become more comfortable. I know we will have a really fun training time because I love those yummy treats. But, I also want you to be proud of me and tell me so when I learn all good things. I’m really fond of the company of people and other dogs. So this means walks, playtime, afternoon outings and maybe some Shrimps on the Barbie! I will benefit from structured training lessons which are offered right here at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, which offers ongoing classes for the both of us.
Ethel:
8 month old spayed female kitten
Ethel is sweet and a little on the shy side. She was found with her sister Lucy and they were both very, very tiny kittens. Both of them spent a couple of weeks with a wonderful Foster Mommy that taught them how to be playful and social kittens. They are very bonded to each other and are true sisters that would love to get adopted together if possible. She also has a video you can see though our website! Ethel is a young cat and young cats need several things to grow up to be happy cats, such as being kept inside, regular vet care, toys, nutritious food, clean water, gentle handling and most importantly, lots of love and attention! Cats live 15 to 20 years on average. We ask that you consider carefully that you can make a lifetime commitment to this pet. When bringing a new cat in the house gentle introductions and a little time is always recommended.
